General Terms & Conditions

Lessons generally run during school term time, with breaks for the school holidays. Occasionally we may offer classes during school holidays depending on pool and instructor availability and on customer interest. Our bookings are managed through Class4kids and you will receive a link to re-book your child’s place each half term. Payment can be made direct from this link by debit or credit card, in which case a small fee is added by Class4kids to cover this. Alternatively, you can pay by bank transfer which does not attract any additional fees and details for this will also be found on the link that you will receive. Your booking is not secured until payment has been received.

Once payment has been made for a block of lessons, please note that we do not offer refunds or credits for missed lessons (whether due to holidays, illness, parties, self-isolation etc.). This also applies if you are unable to make it to a lesson due to issues on your route such as road closures, traffic issues, weather issues etc unless this leads to us cancelling all lessons, in which case you will receive a credit or alternative lesson.

At Garforth Holiday Inn, parents are not permitted to watch the lessons. Parents must bring their child up onto poolside and ensure they are safely handed over to the instructor. The adult dropping off each child will be asked to note down their contact number so that we can easily contact you if needed. Then parents are asked to leave poolside and wait either in the entrance area to the leisure centre or in their cars. Please do not leave the site. Parents are allowed back onto poolside 5 minutes before the end of their class to collect their child. Parents/guardians must supervise children at all times when they are not in their lesson.

At all other venues, all children must be accompanied to their lesson by a parent/guardian who must remain around the pool area throughout the child’s lesson (except for Parent and Toddler classes where the adult must accompany the child into the pool). Parents/guardians must supervise their own children at all times when they are not in their lesson. Any other children/siblings who are watching lessons must not be allowed to walk about near the pool and must be kept under constant parental supervision at all times. No child should be allowed to enter the pool hall unsupervised under any circumstances

Bubbles Swim School reserve the right to remove from our programme, without refund, anyone found to be bullying, misbehaving or displaying disruptive behaviour.

Children should not attend swimming lessons if they are ill. If your child has suffered from sickness or diarrhoea, they should not swim until they have been clear of all symptoms for 14 days. If you are unsure if your child is well enough to swim, please contact your doctor.

Children should not enter the water until instructed to do so and must leave the water immediately at the end of their lesson and not re-enter the pool.

Please note that there will be times during your child’s lesson where physical contact between instructor and child is necessary. This may be to assist your child in climbing out of the pool, to assist with strokes/body position or to keep your child safe. Please be assured that any physical contact will be carried out in an appropriate manner.

Please ensure your child has been to the toilet before their lesson. Any child who is not 100% reliable with their toileting must wear a swim nappy. We recommend a double nappy system of a swim nappy covered by a neoprene swim nappy.

Please ensure any medical/behavioural conditions are reported to us at the time of booking and ensure that we are kept updated if anything should change by updating your child's record on your Class4kids account.

Photography and the recording of images is forbidden at all times. We encourage all parents to report any suspicious activity to a member of staff if they have any concerns.

Please do not allow your child to run on poolside or in the changing rooms as floors may be slippery.

In accordance with good safeguarding practice, no males aged 8 and above (including adults) are permitted to enter the female changing rooms and no females aged 8 and above (including adults) are permitted to enter the male changing rooms.

Should we need to cancel a lesson, we will endeavour to contact everyone as soon as possible by text message. Please therefore ensure you keep us up to date if your contact details change. If a lesson is cancelled by us we may run a replacement session during the school holidays or a credit will be offered towards the next set of lessons. If you do not wish to continue with lessons the following term, then a refund will be given for the cancelled class.

Children will be assessed for certificates/badges 3 times per year, in March, July and December (although this may be delayed slightly during the coronavirus pandemic where instructors cannot offer the same level as support as normal). We carry out assessments over a 2 week period so that hopefully all children will attend one of the two assessment sessions and have chance to be assessed. Unfortunately, we are unable to assess outside of these assessment sessions. Each child will be awarded 3 certificates/badges per year at no extra cost. If your child passes more than this, you will be informed and given the choice to purchase additional certificates/badges at £4 per set.

Parents should not assist the instructor in the teaching of the lesson in any way unless asked to do so. Please note that instructors have very little time between lessons therefore if you need to speak to them, please email info@bubblesswimschoolleeds.co.uk and your query will be passed to your child’s instructor.

If your child is asthmatic, please ensure that they bring their inhaler to every lesson.

All jewellery should be removed before your child’s swimming lesson. Please ensure that long hair is tied back.

At Moorlands School, please ensure that all outdoor footwear is removed and left in the entrance hall. No outdoor shoes are to be worn in the changing rooms or on poolside.

At Moorlands School all children must wear a swimming cap. We have these available to purchase for £4 each. Please bring exact change. You are welcome to purchase an alternative cap from elsewhere if you prefer. This does not apply to preschool lessons held on weekday mornings.

At the Mercure Parkway, please ensure you remove outdoor shoes or use shoe covers provided before coming onto poolside.

At the Holiday Inn, Garforth please ensure you remove outdoor shoes or use shoe covers provided before coming onto poolside.

At the Mercure Parkway, please remember to enter your car registration number at the leisure club reception to ensure you do not receive a parking ticket.

We cannot accept responsibility for belongings left unattended in the pool/school premises. Most venues do not have lockers in the changing rooms so please bring valuables onto poolside with you.

At all venues, please ensure you leave the grounds of the school/venue as quickly as possible after your child's lesson. Children must not be allowed to play on the school premises or play equipment.

Please follow all rules of the venue that you attend (as shown by poolside signs).
